The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf spend a day with the Ipo Watershed rangers

WE all thought reforestation was just about planting seeds. What we don’t know is that much of the process requires the expertise and constant hard work of rangers.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf partners got a taste of the life of a ranger when they visited Mount Balagbag at Ipo Watershed, Rizal. This was made possible by the Philippine Parks and Biodiversity and Eco Explorations.

During their visit, they discovered how crucial it is to prioritize Ipo Watershed. Ninety-six percent of Metro Manila’s water supply comes from the Ipo watershed. Knowing that one of the most densely populated areas of the country is highly dependent on a single area has reinforced that there is a strong need for reforestation.

In the same way that Metro Manila relies heavily on Ipo Watershed, the reforestation of Ipo Watershed also relies heavily on our rangers. The work they do is not only difficult but can also be dangerous.

That’s why CBTL is focused on helping and raising awareness that to be successful in reforestation, we need to take care of the rangers and the work they do. With their “A cup for tomorrow” campaign, you are not only buying a cup, but you are also donating to the cause and helping to raise awareness.
